WADA, Masahiro: Overall
"I wasn't really satisfied with our first half performance. They were putting pressure on our two center backs which was uncomfortable for us, especially after Komoto got a yellow. Therefore, I felt we were lucky to grab that equalizer through Yoshida. It really took the pressure off. I told the players at half time that they need to start moving the ball with more confidence and not rely so much on the long ball. The movement improved with both side backs getting up and Matsuoka did well to get that far foward to jump on the loose ball. Our substitutes have stepped up when players have been suspended and I expect them to do the same on Wednesday when we have to play without Komoto."
OKUBO, Yoshito: Overall
"I'd give us 0 out of 100 for our first half performance. We tried to push up and get in behind their defenders, but it ended up being 45 minutes of throw ins and defending. The goal was some individual brilliance from Taka-san (Yoshida) who was our lone front man for most of the half. The second half was much better with Matsuoka and Tanaka moving forward into the gaps and we were able to start making passes, something we wanted to do from the beginning. When Matsuoka plays well, we always win, so I am looking forward to seeing him grow even more to strengthen the team as a whole."
La Famiglia: I'm back. Having suffered years of below average football in Kobe, I have to say that Yoshito's comments were a bit harsh. Yes, we were much better in the second half, but I thought we were doing enough to stay in the match. For the first time in a while, Kitamoto and Komoto looked fragile. Their two Brazilians we using strength and pace to put lots of pressure on, however, I felt this could have been avoided had Gakuto not tried to get forward so early. The gap he left was stretching the line and we lost the first line of defense in Matsuoka when he had to drop back to cover. It will be interesting to see what Wada does in Komoto's absense on Wednesday. March on - 4 wins in a row!
