Niigata 1 - 1 Vissel

Had we not been in the bottom three, this wouldn't have been such a bad result. Normally, a point away at Niigata on a cold Sunday night in front of 20,000 of their fans would be something worth half celebrating, i.e. about 7 beers. However, as it stands, I will be needing a few more than that tonight to keep my mind off what appears to be the inevitable drop. But more on that another time - perhaps.

I haven't seen the game yet but it appears that Park saved the day for us in the 80th minute. They opened the scoring half-way through the first half, and it looked like we were going to make the long journey back with nothing. According to the match statistics, we had far more shots on goal as well as corners. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Okubo had when he came on in the 60th minute.

FC Tokyo didn't do us any favors today either by beating Marinos and jumping 2 points above us. Anyway, four games left - Kashima, Omiya, Shimizu and Urawa.
Sigh....
