Post Match Comments
WADA, Masahiro: Overall "To be honest, there is nothing we can take out of this match. As the match went on, I think we started to fear losing the match which didn't help us at all. Thanks to all the fans for coming out on a weeknight. Now, we just need to focus on the next match."
BOTTI: Overall "Today was a bad day. They constantly pressed us and didn't give us any room which is exactly what we should've done to them. There's no way you can win by playing like this at home."
POPO: Overall "We were terrible tonight. You could say that Fukuoka played well, but we were totally off our game. We weren't able to do what we set out to do and we just need to forget this game and move on."
La Famiglia: Talk about a match to forget! Fukuoka dictated play throughout the first half - without really doing anything. They never looked like scoring, but were able to prevent us from playing our game. Call it anti-football but if that's what they set out to do, they succeeded. The midweek fixture should not give us an excuse to underperform like this. We fielded a strong team and should have taken 3 points from this match. That was the first time I have heard booing to that extent from the stands this year. Shame on Fukuoka for their time wasting, too. They took every opportunity in the second half to waste time, getting carded once for it, for why - I have absolutely no idea. They could've won this match. We were that off our game. What good is a point to a team at the very bottom of the table? |

I can forgive the team for time-wasting a bit in this game.
I agree we should have been going for the win, but after our start just avoiding defeat was really important I think.
I thought the failure of anyone willing to take the late corner was even worse than Rokutan, but I guess he was a repeat offender.
Yeah, I remember the corner, too. Ironically though, I think it was Vissel that benefited more from Avispa's time wasting.
While I can somewhat understand wanting to avoid defeat, I have no respect for a side that plays for a draw while sitting at the bottom of the table. It should be all or nothing now.
a SHAME Fukuoka earned the first point against a poor played vissel
side,includes BOTTI,OKUBO,PARK,and
POPO Money back to the Fans!!!
