Matsuoka moves to Jubilo

Matsuoka
Defensive midfielder Ryosuke Matsuoka has moved to Jubilo Iwata.
After joining Vissel in 2007 and making his J.League debut the following year, Matsuoka leaves us having played 126 matches. Always one of the most colorful characters in the squad, I think it's fair to say that his effort, passion and commitment far outweighed his ability, and while it's sad to lose another Vissel comrade, I can understand the decision to let him go.

I remember when he made his debut in the first home match of the season in 2008 wearing the number 26 shirt in a glorious 4-1 victory over Frontale (Leandro hat trick). And who could forget the nutty goal celebration when he earned us a priceless 1-0 victory over Albirex, and survival in J1, with his first ever goal.

First goal against Albirex - Oct. 24, 2009

Matsuoka's departure vacates the number 8 shirt which I assume will go to Nozawa.
Good luck with the new challenge and thanks for the memories from all of us at La Famiglia.
