Urawa 2 - 0 Vissel

Yet another disappointing result for Vissel following such a promising start to the season. This was always going to be an uphill battle for us, in the rain in front of 25,000 Reds' fans, not to mention that Urawa hadn't lost since the opening game of the season. I would've been more than happy with a draw from this match. Still, it wasn't to be, and never really looked like it would either. Both of their goals came from set plays in the 2nd half. The first through Abe who latched onto a loose corner that should have been dealt with, and the second, an absolute screamer of a free kick from Richardes. Not unlike the Shimizu match, individually we have improved, but Wada hasn't been able to get us working as a unit. When asked about our inability to transfer what we have worked on in training onto the pitch, Okubo alluded that the team were still nowhere near gelling, even in training. Wada has had just as long as Petrovic has had to work with the new players, so I think he needs to shoulder a lot of the responsibility for where we are right now.
