Kyoto 3 - 0 Vissel

La Famiglia went out to Nishikyogoku yesterday to watch Vissel rack up our worst result of the season. This was a match we absolutely had to win, but ended up losing it in almost comical style.

Miura embarrassed himself again by naming Tomita in the starting lineup and the player put in an even worse performance than the previous several matches. One of his several mistakes led to their first goal and the only thing we had to cheer about from then on was not seeing him on the pitch for the second half. Things may have been different for us had one of Popo's first half efforts gone in, the first hitting the post and the second, a free kick that was superbly saved by their keeper (in his J.League debut).

Matsuoka and Enomoto were both sent off in the second half for second yellows, freakishly in almost the same spot on the field - on the sideline where neither of them needed to make their careless challenges. Then it was all downhill. After somehow preventing them for scoring for the remainder of the half, the fourth official decided to prolong our pain when he held up 7 minutes of "Fergie time" in which they got another two goals.

Apart from the football, it was a nice evening in Kyoto!
